Electric Zombie presents Friday the 13th

Real Quick: It's Friday the 13th.

Being the high holiday that it is Kyle from Electric Zombie has just unleashed his third(!) Friday the 13th influenced collection to coincide with Jason's favorite calendar date.  

 

The Electric Zombie Halloween Special

Just in time for Halloween comes the Electric Zombie Fall release.  I know that I've talked about Electric Zombie in the past quite a bit, tending to shower heaps of praise to its designs and designer, but the brand just really knows what it is doing. Recently the EZ head, Kyle Crawford, made the decision to sharpen his vision and focus the fashion and art company as an outlet for  80's/90's nostalgia which this Fall release line really shows. Ranging from influences like Are You Afraid of the Dark? to Franken Berry, this release is Halloween encapsulated.

Back in the day, when I was just a little Strange,  I was really into professional wrestling. While I drank up major brands like the upstart World Championship Wrestling and the notoriously violent Extreme Championship Wrestling I was always true-blue to the World Wrestling Federation. From the superhero characters of the golden era all the way to the assholes of the attitude era, I've always had a love for the titans of "sports entertainment" and most youths of the 80/90's can agree.  I'm not sure what it's about males from my generation but we loved two things growing up: the WWF and Dragon Ball Z. 

Funny, I don't see any connections between the two.

  Eventually I grew bored of the storylines and moved on, but I still have all those nostalgic memories. Which is why when Electric Zombie revealed it's newest line I was transported straight back to my early days of attempting the sharpshooter leg hold on friends and peers (yep, we were those idiot kids who tried it at home). Thus, I'm proud to review:

Part Zombie. Part Electric. All Robocop.

I was planning to run an article regarding the second part of the Electric Zombie Winter line, which focused on 'Robocop' (1987) and 'Robocop 2' (1990), but then the awesome blog Geek Leak beat me to it (by like 12 days...damn).

Electric Zombie Ain't Afraid of No Ghost (or Monsters).

Being a child in the 80's meant something very simple: you could handle things that might scare you. I'm not sure if it was a cultural observation or simply the whims of unscrupulous content creators but we growing up had a lot of spooky things to enjoy and keep us up at night. That's where Electric Zombie excels.

Electric Zombie, and its mad genius Kyle Crawford,  has just released their first wave of a Winter 2014 line and it is all about spooks and ghouls. Now, Crawford is somewhat of a polarizing figure in the world of design lines due to his bluntness but the man has high standards and is not afraid to run his companies how he wants. Whatever you think of him you have to respect how Electric Zombie puts out great work (and Crawford doesn't seem to care what you think of him anyway).

First up is perhaps the coolest thing on the planet at this moment (and "It Came from 1984" is currently going on) and that's the 'Spooker' print featuring the ghost of 'The Real Ghostbusters'.

There was a full on love fest yesterday regarding the film franchise  marked by the ominous date with people posting various clips and images regarding their undying love for the world's most well known goalie who's never actually stopped a puck.

I tire of these KEEP CALM parodies...but this one I'll allow.
