Fright Film Friday: Neon Maniacs (1986)

Greetings creeps and...creepettes? Whatever, welcome to October and welcome to Free Film Friday. For those who have never joined us for FFF this is the (sporadic) weekly feature where we watch a hidden gem from a unnamed streaming source and enjoying the fruits of copyright infringement.

For October we decided to showcase some spooky films that were stables on VHS and had various degrees of watch-ability. Together with Countdown to Halloween, this is...

First, the legal matter:

We at Culturally Significant! do not own the rights or

claim the copyright of the film embedded. Those rights

belong to the original owner and not the user unless noted.

Okay, now to the good stuff. Today's film was found locked behind a steel door under a bridge. So let's insert it into our VCR and bask in the glow of the Neon Maniacs (1986)
In the heart of San Francisco, the legions of the damned lay waiting beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.
As night falls, they are unleashed upon  the city to carve terror into the souls of the innocent.
But when one young women named Natalie escapes a bloody teen slaughter, she cannot
convince anyone that a rampaging army of psychotic "'monsters" has mutilated her friends.

Where do we begin with this movie? Bakery trucks? Water pistols? Battle of the bands? This film has it all. You know what, enough talking, enjoy the film...

Video by Shawn B.

Also, to go along with our VHS influenced October, we've included the previews that came with the release of Neon Maniacs on home video (to recreate a more realistic experience, please watch these first).

Follow Countdown to Halloween for more ghoulish fun this year.
